The artists have installed a show in a gorgeous modern lakefront home in Maitland, FL. There are over 30 paintings for sale and a few furniture pieces on display for one night only.
Some of the work has never been seen, including pieces from Andrew’s “Storm” series and Brigan’s “Aftermath” series.

Scott’s work in Beautiful Oddities derives from his fascination with nature and unexplored worlds and their inherent promise of infinite possibilities. Scheidly’s razor sharp renditions of the unreal have a sublime quality that draws the viewer deep into alternate universes where anything can happen.

Who: Takedown presents the Graffiti Bus Jam, 6 Graffiti Artists (TWA CREW (Decoy, Staz, Noskillz312) & TCP Crew (This, Cynic, Sone) paint from top to bottom a 40ft school bus live. To join them from Savannah Georgia is the one and only Dope Sandwich presenting the most crushing MC’s and DJ’s Hip Hop could ever need The Union of Sacred Monsters. They consist of 6 MC’s and 2 DJ’s with special guests the Chief Rockaz BBoy Crew. Also joining them for break sets on the turntables, the locally famous DJ Shel, the Mad turntable wizard Dr. DVS, and a special set with DJ Spear and DJ Mot. Then to top it off, the best beer brewed right here locally by Orlando Beer Brewing, BBQ all day provided by Blackwater BBQ and all local based sponsors of this one day event will have booths to network their tail off and bring to you special products for sale.

Maitland Art Center to exhibit installation works of 14 Visual Artists
Maitland, FL - The Research Studio in the 21st Century- Maitland Art Center’s (MAC) family of artists, including faculty, staff, students and associates will depart from the types of tradition-based art forms associated with MAC and create new, cutting-edge art works and art installations in the spirit of the Research Studio founded by André Smith in the 1930’s now called the Maitland Art Center.
This exhibition will open on Friday, May 29th at 6pm and is an opportunity to re-unite those Artists involved with the 1st Thursday event @ OMA (Feb 5, 2009) to exhibit installation art modified for MAC gallery and grounds. The innovative show will run through Sunday, July 12, 2009. Artists include: Steven Carey, Kelledy Francis, Pat Greene, Brigan Gresh + Andrew White, Martha Lent, Kyle, Dina Mack, Sergio Mora, Richard Reep, Doug Rhodehamel, Nathan Selikoff, Kim DH Walz and Historian, Egberto Almenas. Music by Chris Santos, Videography by Ephriam McCormick. A Gallery Walk and Panel Discussion is scheduled for Saturday, June 6, 2009 at 2pm in the Gallery with Moderator, Egberto Almenas.
Gallery hours for the Maitland Art Center are Tuesday through Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.; and Sunday from 12:00 noon to 5:30 p.m.; and closed major holidays. Admission to the galleries is free for MAC members, $2 for seniors (65+) and $3 for not-yet-MAC members.
