lot1433 update

Wow. Been so busy! Worked on five productions in 2011. Wrapped the last, a feature film in Florida called Missionary, in December. Good group of people and a crazy schedule. I’m looking forward to seeing the finished product.
Then flew to Austin, TX for a final scout for the feature Exists.
Arrived back in PA in time for the holidays in the snow and to do some work (in studio301) for the bar design in Orlando.
Then heading back to Florida end of this month for more work on the bar (and some time at the beach).
Then back to Austin at the end of February for Exists until mid/late May.
Will probably fly back to Orlando in there somewhere for the opening of the bar.

lot1433 has been VERY busy!!!!….with no sign of slowing for months!

Recently finished set designs for a television series called “The Inbetweeners” in Orlando. Though short, it was great to work with everyone there again. They have begun shooting at Universal.

I am presently blogging from Austin, TX where set construction is underway for a feature that I am Production Designing. Sets are looking fantastic. I feel for the locals however…..the drought is relentless and has left many in trouble.

Recent contract has been signed for designing a new bar in Orlando! Very exciting because of the creative freedom and the people involved. The space will be something not ever seen in Orlando. Doing concepts now. Can’t wait to dig deeper…

Will certainly update on all of this as I progress!

IN THE WHITE: DINA MACK & BRIGAN GRESH

Lake Eustis Museum of Art

openning Friday, April 15th, 6 - 9 p.m. with artists’ talks and refreshments by Ladybug’s of Tavares. Through May 22, 2011.

http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=123348897739507

Together, these Central Florida artists demystify, with beauty and imperfection, the creative process to articulate the revealed and concealed inherent in the color white in their collaborative Lake Eustis Museum of Art exhibit

Dina Mack’s ethereal, exploration of fragmented thoughts, images and memories speaks with force that defies the delicate beauty of her art.

Brigan Gresh’s translation of sensation into a visual encounter is marked by extreme subtlety and reverse illusion that entice a closer look at her unique works.

Together and separately Gresh and Mack craft a unique experience showcasing two and three dimensional works, video and installations that transform space into diaphanous dimensions of shadow and light that communicate mind and body experiences while, in some cases, transitioning old creations into new art forms

“I see my creative work as an all encompassing task,” says Gresh. “I start at a place of pure sensation and then attempt to translate that sensation into a visual encounter. I strive to find the exact line, movement or color that communicates what my mind and body are experiencing. Sometimes the sensation is more of the societal mind and body, but my process is the same. I don’t think there’s an art movement called ‘Sensationism’, but if there were, I would be dedicated to the movement.”

Mack finds power in a whisper, saying, “I’m influenced by experiences that are quiet, personal, fragile and beautifully imperfect.” A poet as well as a visual artist, Mack strikes a serene balance between the tactile and mental using tools of texture, paper, words and wax, often exalting the color white and the vessel in various forms. A McRae Art Studios artist in Winter Park, Mack is adjunct faculty at Crealde School of Art.

Gresh and Mack have melded their quirky creativity together before in exhibits at Orlando Museum of Art and Maitland Art Center, but never to the degree explored in the LEMA exhibit.

The exhibit opens April 15 with a 6 – 9 p.m. reception and artists’ talks at the art museum at 200 B East Orange Ave., Eustis. The exhibit closes May 22.

For more information see LakeEustisMuseumofArt.org or call 352-483-2900.

LEMA is open Tuesday – Friday 10 a.m. – 4 p.m., and weekends noon – 4. Closed Monday. Non-member adult visitors are asked to make a $5 donation.

Pics of Our New Digs

01/26/11 | by droo [mail] | Categories: NEWS [A]

Here are some pictures of our new building! I’m not going to post any more until we do some work on it. It is 2 floors plus a full stand up basement. Each floor is roughly 1100 sqft. Top floor is residence, first floor is studio, basement is woodworking/sculpture-ing. The Allegheny river is 1/4 mile away and the town is on the edge of the Allegheny National Forest….under 1 hour to Erie and under 2 hours to Pittsburgh.
Yay!

Here’s the exterior. It has a flat roof. We will grow things on it.

This is a picture of the ceilings. They are original tin. They are 12 feet tall. (we will remove the drop ceilings)

This is the vault. It still works. It says “dynamite proof” on the door. It has 70s shag carpet inside. It is awesome.
